These are the offical rules of the King of the Hill tournament:
This tournament is an 8 player Free-For-All (FFA) game with 7 elimination rounds. After each round, one player is eliminated while the other players advance to the next round.
Eliminations are decided in the following order:
1. Lowest Score
2. Least Kills
3. Most Deaths
Guns To Be Used
1. SMGs (Thompson or MP40)
2. HMGs (Bar or STG44)
3. Sniper Rifles (Springfield and Gewehr)
4. NOBazooka (M1 or Panzerschreck)
4. NOShotGun
5. Rifles (M1 Garand and Karabiner) will be determined by the players and the official.
Officials
KOH Tourneys may only be held and officiated by Certified Referees and above. The official is responsible for room setup and tournament communication. During game play, the official will dress in the orange "Target Practice" outfit in order to easily be identifiable by the tourney players; therefore, no other players are allowed to wear that outfit, in part or in whole; however, an observer can and must wear the Target Practice outfit (SEE ADDITIONAL INFO). During game play, no one is allowed to shoot or kill the official; however, mistakes happen, so the official will just keep a tally of the offender's score and subtract the kills and points from that player's final score. If a player purposely shoots or kills the official repeatedly, that player will be ejected from the tournament. Officials are not required to commit suicide, so like sporting events, the offical is considered to be a part of the playing field. For the most part, the official will try to stay away from the action by posting up on high positions and going prone when being close to players.
Participation
Each player that wishes to participate in this tournament is required to create an account in the "King of the Hill" Single's Tournament Ladder. In addition, the player is required to sign up for the tournament they wish to enter in the Tournaments menu.
No Shows
If a player has accepted the challenge from the official of their tournament and fails to show up by the start time, he or she will receive a forfeit and a strike. If a player receives three strikes due to forfeits for "no shows", that person will no longer be allowed to participate in KOH tournaments. A tournament cannot start without eight players present, so the official will delay the tournament or postpone the tournament until enough players are present. To help keep this from happening, the official will keep a reserved list of players-on-standby. The standby players will be contacted by the official via PM.
Player's Conduct
Tourney players are required to conduct themselves in a courteous manner. Trash talking, abusive language, disrespect, and verbal taunting will not be tolerated. At the officials discretion, any player breaking these rules may be rendered disqualified and ejected from the tournament.
Cheating
If a player is caught hacking, he or she will be immediately disqulaified from the existing tournament and will receive a strike on their KOH account. If any player receives 3 strikes, he or she will be permenantly banned from KING OF THE HILL TOURNAMENTS.
Prizes
Prizes may vary, but the typical prize for the KOH tournament is 500 XP. The XP points along with the crown will be awarded in the KOH tourney ladder only. At any time, you may transfer your XP points to any other account you have; however, you can only apply your KOH XP to the latest loss on any given account. For example, say you have a clan account, a squad account, or a singles account , and you just lost a match resulting in a 100 XP point deduction, you can have 100 XP points transferred from your KOH account to make up for your points lost. So, if you had 500 XP points in your KOH account, 100 XP would be transferred resulting in a remaining balance of 400 XP in your KOH account. You're only allowed to transfer the equivalent amount from points lost. Any unused points will continue to accumulate and remain in your KOH account. If for any reason, you break any EA rules resulting in a ban from the site, your points will automatically be terminated, and will no longer be transferable to another account. In order to request a transfer of points, you must submit a support ticket making the request along with the account id to transfer from and the account id to transfer to, and the XP amount you wish to transfer.
Buying Back Strikes
In addition to applying KOH XP to recent losses, players may also buy back strikes from any of their MOHH2 accounts (i.e. clan, singles,). The buy back amounts are as follows:
1st strike = 100XP
2nd strike = 400XP
1st & 2nd strikes = 500XP
Buying back three (3) strikes from the same account is not an option due to the fact that receiving three (3) strikes is an automatic account deletion, which is non-negotiable. It is at the discretion of the management team to decline the buy back of any strikes. If approved, the strike will be removed from the account; however, points lost from the strike will not be restored. The sole purpose of the strike buy backs is to remove the blemishes from people's accounts to make it easier for them to get wars. To buy back strikes, the process is exactly the same as transferring XP.
